COMMUNITY APPRECIATION:
Thanks again from the Tumwater Soccer Club to the communities of Tumwater, Olympia, Lacey, and Montesano for helping us host an excellent, 41st consecutive, and much needed Kick In The Grass 2020 3v3 Cup! Despite any of the implemented or requested safety procedures and barriers, almost all the feedback has been very positive from coaches, parents, and the spectators, and we had 2 cup winners! None of that could've been possible if not for a little bit of help along the way to coordinating this very modified tournament in just about a month or less!

The City of Tumwater helped tremendously with coordinating the use of Pioneer Park and providing us with all the fields and sanitized facilities we needed for the weekend of the tournament, all on short notice to say the least. Big Thanks to the City of Tumwater's Department of Parks and Recreation; Charlie Groth, Jeff, Jim, Wayne, and the rest of the team that was out there helping make it all happen!

CLUB APPRECIATION:
We would like to thank Tumwater, Olympia, Chinqually, and Montesano youth soccer clubs for their recreational soccer presence with 18 total teams between the 4 clubs. In addition, a tremendous shout out goes out to TC United as they were able to step up big and register 25 more teams! Thank you TC United, your club single-handedly made the 41st year of the KITG possible!

VENDOR APPRECIATION:
We had some great local businesses helping us out as well, like KONA Ice, to assist with chilling all the kids out when they weren't playing. KONA Ice did great and the kids and parents loved it, thank you to Reed and Amy Harroun! Wembley Soccer came through, as always, with our KITG Staff Polos and Volunteer T's to keep all of the staff looking official, then came out on Saturday to join in the festivities and set up a couple of tents of merchandise full of FC Bayern (the day before the CL final?), nice work, thank you to Kurt Gress and his crew!

TSC STAFF/KITG VOLUNTEER APPRECIATION:
In addition to all of the community support being appreciated above, I would like to personally thank the TSC board members, referee coordinators, and KITG volunteer staff that volunteered all of their personal time to help me make the tournament special for the 41st year in a row! There are so many behind-the-scenes activities that go into any tournament and without your support, directing a tournament would be impossible, even on a small scale. This year being the first year for me in regards to directing the tournament, I cannot say it would've come together without the high level assistance of TSC board members Mark Huegel, Levi Clemmens, Tiffany Leone, Wayne Graham, and Brian Schultz, referee coordinators Betty Schmeck and Bob Marra, and KITG Volunteers Conley Payne, Ricardo Hernandez, Randy Ruesga, Jodi Jarmin, Judy Voorhies, Keila Punke, Dave Temple, and Chad Bender, who collectively, helped with tournament planning, team registration, referee coordination, field setup and teardown, check-in, tournament scoring, field marshalling, vendor coordination, and probably a bunch of other things I'm forgetting.

SPECTATOR APPRECIATION:
I would like to share my appreciation for the great spectators, parents, siblings, and everyone else who was at the park during the tournament weekend, respecting all the safety boundaries and procedures, while enjoying the games. You helped make the tournament what it was for all the players, and tournament staff, so thank you.

PLAYERS AND COACHES APPRECATION:
Players! Coaches! Where would this tournament be without all of you? Thank you, thank you, and thank you for coming out and helping keep the KITG streak alive for 41 straight years and having a great time doing it amidst such a trying time for all of us.

What an inspirational tournament! It has me already thinking about the next local tournament opportunity, possibly a 7-a-side tournament in late Fall of 2020!

Washington's Longest-running Youth Soccer Tournament!
KITG Stresses Sportsmanship!

Kick in the Grass (KITG) Soccer Tournament
The KITG tournament is hosted by the Tumwater Soccer Club. Teams from all over SW Washington and Northern Oregon have participated in KITG events.

It is the goal of the Tumwater Soccer Club for the KITG to provide an enjoyable, first class soccer experience to all its participants - players, parents, coaches, and referees. The KITG provides a first rate soccer experience in a small community atmosphere.

It is the view of the Tumwater Soccer Club that above all else, we should maintain a respect for our competition, our players, and for the game. Furthermore, we believe that exemplary sportmanship should be rewarded. To that end, Sportmanship Trophies are awarded to one team in each of the following groups: Girls 10 thru Girls 14, Girls 15 thru Girls 19, Boys 10 thru Boys 14, and Boys 15 thru Boys 19.
