TCYSA Spring Season 2021 Planning

Thurston County Youth Soccer (TCYSA) is continuing with plans to host the Spring recreational soccer
season. We are excited to provide an opportunity for our kids to play. However, due to the ever-
changing situation with the pandemic and recently updated guidance from the State, our plans for
Spring season may have to change depending on the circumstances at the time play begins. Under the
new Healthy Washington requirements Thurston county is in phase 1 which only allows for youth team
sports to hold practices. Thurston county will need to be in phase 2 under the current requirements to
be able to play games.
TCYSA is committed to providing the safest possible environment for Spring recreational soccer season
participants. We will continue to monitor the safety requirements in place and will develop updated
policies prior to the start of the season consistent with state and local health officials' guidance.
Key Dates:
Games will be held March 20 - June 12 (no games during Spring break April 3, April 10 or Memorial Day
May 29)
The goal is to have teams play 8 games during the season, but that may be subject to change due to
scheduling issues and public health requirements.
Team Structure:
U8 will play 4x4 (no keeper) with rosters of 10 (minimum roster size is 8)
U9 - U12 and under will play 6v6 (includes keeper) with rosters of (minimum roster size is 8)
U13 and above will play 7v7 (includes keeper) with rosters of 12 (minimum roster size is 9)
